    The natural next step

From Foreman to Licensed General Contractor

You run the crew, read the plans, talk to the inspector, hit the schedule. The license is the only thing standing between you and signing your own $1M contracts.

This course is currently taught in Portuguese. English and Spanish versions are in development; no launch date has been announced.

The foreman is 90% of the way there

You already do the hardest part: leading people, sequencing trades, problem-solving on the fly. The DBPR exam is mostly about formalizing what you do every day plus business law and finance.

Foreman experience: exactly what DBPR looks for

DBPR specifically values supervisory experience. Letters from the GCs you've foremaned for are the gold standard for the application.

    From $75k W-2 to $300k+ as GC

A senior foreman earns $70–95k. As your own GC running 2–4 projects: $250–500k year one. With pipeline: $1M+ within 3 years.

Your jobsite experience is already worth gold

King Training is a course taught in Portuguese that takes you from the DBPR application to Pearson VUE approval, even if you've never set foot in a college classroom.

    Frequently asked questions

    Does foreman experience count?›

Yes, it's the highest-quality experience for DBPR. Supervisory years are weighted heavily.

Do I need to leave my foreman job to apply?›

No. Most candidates keep their foreman job during the 6–12 month process and transition once their first contracts close.

What's the hardest part of the exam for foremen?›

Business law and finance, not construction. The course is built around exactly that gap.

Can I become a qualifier for another company first?›

Yes. Many foremen become qualifiers for an existing company while building their own pipeline on the side.
